We’re a registered charity which means that our board of trustees collectively has overall accountability for our work and delivery. Trustees are volunteers and serve a three-year term.

Sadly, we are due to lose some of our trustees whose terms are due to come to an end later this year. We're therefore looking for new trustees to join our Board. This is a unique opportunity to lead, inspire and make a difference within local communities in Gloucestershire.

About us

The Gloucestershire VCS Alliance is the independent voice that informs, strengthens, and develops the voluntary and community sector in Gloucestershire.

Our mission is to:

  • Be the independent voice that informs, strengthens, and develops the VCSE sector in Gloucestershire.
  • Promote mutually respectful partnerships between the VCSE, public, and private sectors.
  • Be at the forefront of positive change within the VCSE sector in the county
  • Support VCSE sector groups & organisations in Gloucestershire to become more sustainable.

About our trustees

We’re looking for new trustees from any background, of any age (must be over 16), who have a passion for the VCSE sector and their community. We are keen for our board to reflect the breadth of the organisations we represent, so would welcome applications from candidates from organisations of all sizes. Additionally, we are looking to recruit a Treasurer.

As a trustee you will receive:

  • The opportunity to help create a thriving, strong, resilient VCSE sector in the county for the benefit of individuals & communities.
  • Training and development, learning new skills to help you in your trustee role and beyond.
  • Expenses relating to your trustee role.

In return we ask that you:

  • Attend meetings - our board of trustees meets six times per year (meetings are held on Wednesdays between 2pm and 4pm in Gloucester) and holds an annual away day.
  • Consent to share your information with the Charity Commission, key staff, and fellow trustees. More information about this is in our Trustee Privacy Notice.
  • Undertake mandatory training and be willing to take on additional roles and responsibilities where necessary.
