This year Volunteers' Week is celebrating 40 years and we're encouraging as many groups & organisations across the county to join us and Go Volunteer Glos to celebrate!
From Monday 3 June to Sunday 9 June, we'd like to celebrate the work of volunteers across the county and inspire more people to make a difference by volunteering.
What happens during Volunteers' Week?
Hundreds of in-person and online events take place across the UK. Some organisations host tea parties, others share thank you posts on their media. The beauty of Volunteers' Week is that you can organise something that works for your organisation and your volunteers!
The Big Help Out follows Volunteers' Week (from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 June) and people across the UK will have the opportunity to participate in a range of volunteer taster sessions.
What is Gloucestershire VCS Alliance and Go Volunteer Glos doing to celebrate?
On Thursday 9 May we are organising the first Gloucestershire Volunteer Awards Ceremony. We recently closed nominations for this event and will shortly announce the nominees in our VCSE Sector News Bulletin and on our X and Facebook accounts. The ceremony will celebrate the contribution of volunteers across our county and is going to include lots of sparkle!
Throughout Volunteers' Week, we will be sharing a range of useful tips and resources for groups & organisations on our X and Facebook accounts.
We've also got a few more announcements over the coming weeks so watch this space...
How can your group/organisation join in?
If you'd like to join in, the Volunteer's Week website has a range of resources including:
- A social media pack for you to use across your social media channels
- A downloadable certificate that you can give to your volunteers
- A range of other printables (they even have some bunting!)
You can view and download these resources on the Volunteers' Week website here: https://volunteersweek.org/get-involved/resources/
If you're looking for some ideas and tips, you can find lots of inspiration and advice on the Volunteers' Week website.
