Go Volunteer Glos, the digital home of volunteering in Gloucestershire, launched on 1st June 2022, the first day of national Volunteers Week.

A BRAND-NEW free website for local people aged 16 plus who are looking to offer their time as a volunteer and for organisations, charities and community groups needing volunteers.

Go Volunteer Glos was created by the Gloucestershire Volunteering Collaborative.

Following the overwhelming number of people who came forward to volunteer throughout the pandemic, we reached out to thousands of local people and organisations asking them to share their volunteering experiences.

One of the key themes from their feedback was the need to make finding volunteering roles easier by bringing together the most diverse and widest range of opportunities available across the county into one online place.

Using GoVolunteerGlos.org is the simplest way to find volunteering opportunities - no matter what a person’s interest is – anything from dog walking for an elderly person to creating a new community garden to fundraising.

People wanting to volunteer in Gloucestershire will now be able to use our website to match their skills, interests, location, and availability to the perfect volunteering role. That role could be a helping at a one-off event right through to a regular commitment.

For those new to volunteering there are so many benefits for them and the people and causes being helped. They can gain new skills, make friends, or get to know their community.

Whether someone wants to volunteer from home or get out in the community and meet new people, GoVolunteerGlos.org has something for everyone!

Matt Lennard, from the Gloucestershire Volunteering Collaborative, says …

“We recognise the wonderful work organisations, charities, and community groups can do when supported by amazing volunteers. We want to do everything we can to help link organisations with volunteers in the simplest way possible. Go Volunteer Glos is the first step in our ambition to make Gloucestershire the best county in the country within which to volunteer.”

Emma Snell, Go Volunteer Glos Manager, explains:

“We are really excited about the launch of Go Volunteer Glos and the potential it has to transform volunteering in our county, increasing both the number and diversity of people who volunteer. One of our key strengths is our local focus, with all our opportunities being based in Gloucestershire. We also have a fantastic mix of interesting opportunities representing a wide range of different causes and from all sectors, including charities and community groups, as well as the NHS and local government.”
