The Gloucestershire Volunteering Collaborative (GVC) has launched a comprehensive new ESV guide, toolkit and case studies today.

The guide is designed to help employers to understand the benefits of ESV for their companies, employees, and the local community.

Unlock the power of volunteering

GVC hopes that the guide and resources will enable groups & organisations across the county to understand the principles and mechanisms of ESV, and help to build relationships across sectors.

This ESV guide aims to bridge this gap by providing clear and concise information about what ESV is, how it works, and the mutual benefits it offers to both employers, employees and the local community. It also includes a range of practical tips, guidance, and resources to help employers design and implement effective ESV programmes.

Key Highlights of the ESV Guide:

  • Understanding ESV: Clear definitions and explanations of Employer Supported Volunteering.
  • Benefits for Employers: Insight into how ESV can enhance company culture, employee morale, and brand reputation.
  • Community Impact: Information on how ESV can make a tangible difference in the local community by leveraging resources and expertise.
  • Implementation Tips: guidance on how to create and maintain a successful ESV programme.
  • Case Studies: Real-world examples of successful ESV programmes from local employers.

Launching the new guide, Emma Snell from Go Volunteer Glos said: "Employer Supported Volunteering is not only a great way for employers to support communities in Gloucestershire, but it has also been shown to benefit businesses themselves too, such as building staff morale. We know that employees giving a few days of their time to volunteer across the county will make a significant different to the lives of individuals. Go Volunteer Glos is the digital home of volunteering in the county and enables employers to connect with a wealth of volunteer-involving organisations and find opportunities that will suit them."
