Our Mental Health Coordinator, Joanna Scott, shared an update about Community Mental Health Transformation (CMHT) in Gloucestershire in March.
The full update is below.
Dear colleagues,
Please find news and information connecting VCSE mental health delivery to statutory services:
Locality Community Partnerships (LCPs)
LCPs are now up and running across the county. LCPs are regular (weekly) virtual meetings, where members from health, social care and VCSE partners come together in a multidisciplinary approach, to discuss how best to support someone. This may be because they have a serious or enduring mental illness, but do not currently fit a single service or may have a level of complexity that may need a multi-agency offer. The LCP brings a ‘no wrong door’ approach, supporting clinicians, professionals, and service users in navigating access to community, specialist and VCSE services and supports the development of a collaborative, personalised support offer. So far, the LCPs have discussed more than 200 cases. Find out more about LCPs and the new clinical leads and navigator teams, in the latest newsletter.
Small Grants- £300,000 allocated to VCSE sector
The Community Mental Health Transformation (CMHT) programme, led by Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (GHC) in partnership with Gloucestershire VCS Alliance, has provided a Small Grants Fund worth £300,000 to 18 local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) partners across Gloucestershire. The CMHT Programme is bringing together experience and support from all sectors across Gloucestershire in supporting mental health care for adults with severe mental health needs. The grants programme recognises how well placed the passion and dedication of local VCSE organisations are to driving forward new and existing community-based services. These groups are already providing invaluable support in our communities. By working in partnership, and collaborating across organisations, we can ensure that more people who need support can be reached, and that improved mental health services offer more choice for people living with mental health challenges. Crisis Information and Flyers
Based on feedback received from people who had used crisis service, GHC has developed a new flyer to try and more clearly set out what the crisis service does and does not do. It had become clear that there was confusion about the service and so a new set of information was co-produced which is now on GHC website but also on the flyer attached. The flyers have been distributed to all GP surgeries but we also want to distribute via non-statutory agencies to increase the reach.
CALMHS - Rebranding
The new Mental Health Support and Advice Service will start on 1st April 2024 with Rethink Mental Illness as the provider. GCC would like to invite you to participate in this survey to help us with shaping the service name. We have developed an anonymous survey to help us collect feedback on the potential new service name which can be accessed here: https://forms.office.com/e/CsCsScXzF1
“As part of our commitment to continuously improving the service we (GCC) have embarked on a rebranding initiative to coproduce a new name for the service. What we call the service is important, we want people to know what the service does and who it’s for. We want to make sure that people feel as though the service is inclusive and is for them if they might need it. “
