The event will demystify the White Paper on English Devolution in local-council language, and let all Town and Parish Councils know what work has been done so far at district and county level, what engagement is planned and what Town and Parish Councils can expect in the months ahead. Officers from the county and districts will attend and there will be an opportunity to ask questions and breakout into smaller discussion groups to feedback on our sector’s priorities. Session information

Gloucestershire VCS Alliance is working with our public sector partners to keep VCSE groups & organisations in Gloucestershire informed about the upcoming Local Government Reforms.

The VCSE sector will play an important part in the future of our county’s structures, and we want to ensure that everyone is kept up to speed about how the situation is developing and the timeframes around this work.

We invite you to join us on 19 March to:

  • Set the scene about what is currently happening;
  • Ask questions of our local government leaders; and
  • Participate in a friendly debate with VCSE sector colleagues about what this might mean for our sector.

We will be joined by Siobhan Farmer (Director of Public Health, Gloucestershire County Council) and Alex Khaldi (Local Government Reform Advisor, Gloucestershire County Council).

Please note: This is not a consultation event, instead it is a chance for the sector to be informed about the current situation to provide context on how and when the sector can get engaged with the work.
