Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) is inviting representatives from the VCSE sector in the county to a Health & Wellbeing collaboration event in February 2024.
This event will help GCC to draw together discussions and continue the journey that they embarked upon in their last Stakeholder get together earlier this year.
In the Summer GCC asked: “How do those of us with an interest in the Mental Health and Wellbeing of people in Gloucestershire come together and work together?” The ideas and suggestions that arose from this question made for a really energetic discussion and the Council began to see the beginnings of a new way forward.
This time around, GCC will be continuing these conversations with invited speakers and organisations who can support to 'enrich the picture' and take forward some of the priorities that were identified last time. GCC have invited individuals who have developed innovative approaches to developing mental health support locally and nationally to take part.
As with the last event, this event is open to everyone who has an interest in or works in mental health including those with lived experience of mental ill health and carers.
Please hold the following date in your diaries for this session:
- Thursday 8 February 2024
- 10 am – 3 pm
- Churchdown Community Centre
Please note: The event will start at 10:30 am. There will be half an hour before and after the event for informal networking and lunch will be provided.
Update from GCC on 8 January 2024:
"We will be hearing about some of the exciting work happening within the diverse ethnic communities across Gloucestershire, and from Rethink Mental Illness about whole system approaches and their involvement in the mental health transformation in other areas of the UK.
We hope to identify the most popular and most practical ways for us to work together collectively to meet our aims and to understand better about what possibilities or barriers there might be. We want to identify our collective priorities area around mental health within Gloucestershire and understand how we can work on these as a collaborative. We will be supporting conversations within the event to enable us to do this.
As with the last Stakeholder event this is open to everyone who has an interest in or works in mental health, we particularly welcome those with lived experience and carers, (both paid and unpaid) to be a part of this. This event is for all people with experience of mental ill health from across the widest reaches of our communities including those who have been in contact with mental health services or who identify as having mental illness. We particularly welcome and encourage those from organisations to support a local champion or champions to attend who have lived experience of mental ill health including those who are staff, volunteers, and benefactors of the service.
Thank you to all of you who have already expressed an interest in attending.
