  • John Lewis and Waitrose Community Matters 

    Funding amount and term: a share of £3,000.
    Funding for: community projects in the locality.
    Who can apply: charities, schools and relevant community groups.
    Funding priorities: local causes.

    every three months each shop selects three community groups or charities to help and shares £3,000 between the votes received from their customers.

  • Morrisons Foundation Charitable Grants 

    Funding amount and term: up to £10,000. 
    Funding for: projects which help to improve people’s lives in communities. 
    Who can apply: registered charities. 
    Funding priorities: the Foundation's objectives are: 1. Tackling poverty and social deprivation; 2. Enhancing community spaces, facilities and services; and 3. Improving health and wellbeing. Charities applying should ensure their project meets at meets at least one of the funding objectives.

  • Moto in The Community Trust  

    Funding amount and term: the average grant awarded is £1,000, though larger grants may be agreed. 
    Funding for: projects and activities that deliver benefits to local communities. 
    Who can apply: charities, schools and community organisations operating within a 15-mile radius of a Moto Motorway Services site.  
    Funding priorities: projects should directly benefit the communities where Moto is present or where it has a significant staff catchment.  
    Any other information: applications should be endorsed by a Moto colleague or someone directly employed by Moto Hospitality Ltd.

  • National Lottery UK Fund  

    Funding amount and term: from £500,000 to £5 million.  
    Funding for: projects that help bring diverse communities together or help children and young people use their voice to influence change. 
    Who can apply: voluntary or community organisations, statutory organisations. 
    Funding priorities: you are more likely to get funding if you do one of the aims below well, rather than a little of everything.  
    Aims: to improve relationships between people with different life experiences, to help people and communities who find it difficult to meet face-to-face to make meaningful connections online, to help people from all backgrounds to influence the future of their communities, to help children and young people facing specific challenges change the systems that affect them and to help more organisations to involve children and young people.

  • One Stop Community Partnership Programme

    Funding amount and term: grants of up to £1,000.
    Funding for: 
    a new or ongoing project in partnership with a community group’s One Stop store.
    Who can apply: 
    local community groups.
    Funding priorities:
     food poverty, the vulnerable and elderly, low-income families, sports teams, local environment and reducing waste.
    Any other information: 
    funding is designed to support community groups or organisations operating within two miles of a One Stop store.

    29 September 2025 (applications open 1 September).

  • Partnerships Fund 

    Funding amount and term: £20,001 upwards for up to five years. 
    Funding for: community projects. 
    Who can apply: organisations working together in partnership to help their community. 
    Funding priorities: to be confirmed.

  • Persimmon Homes Community Champions fund 

    Funding amount and term: from £1,000 to £6,000. 
    Funding for: good causes in the community. 
    Who can apply: local groups, sports clubs, schools, hospices and charities which have already raised vital funds themselves.

  • Poppy Fund – Cost of Living Grants 

    Funding amount and term: unclear. 
    Funding for: basic financial costs. 
    Who can apply: Armed Forces community of individuals and organisations. 
    Funding priorities: everyday essentials such as kitchen appliances, clothes and some furniture.

  • Reaching Communities  

    Funding amount and term: £20,001 upwards for up to five years. 
    Funding for: projects that help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need, including hard to reach communities. 
    Who can apply: voluntary and community organisations.  
    Funding priorities: projects which support places, people or communities experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination, and which meaningfully involve communities in steering the project.  .

  • Severn Trent Community Fund 

    Funding amount and term: applications can be made for small (£2,000-£20,000) or large (£20,000-£100,000) grants – different criteria apply for each. 
    Funding for: projects that support community wellbeing and link to people, place and the environment. 
    Who can apply: not-for-profit organisations, CICs, foundation schools, colleges or academy trusts and statutory bodies – including local authorities, town, parish or community councils in the Seven Trent region.  
    Funding priorities: new projects that cover all three key elements of community wellbeing - people, place and environment.

  • Tewkesbury Borough Community Health & Wellbeing Grant 

    Funding amount and term: £1,000 grants available. 
    Funding for: projects to improve physical and mental wellbeing, that encourage healthy lifestyles, building strong communities for the future and contributing to long-term physical and mental wellbeing benefits.  
    Who can apply: not-for-profit organisations working with communities in Tewkesbury Borough, including registered charities, town/parish councils, CICs and social enterprises, plus constituted community groups. 
    Funding priorities: encouraging people to take part in community activities which improve mental and physical wellbeing; improving community spaces as well as creating outdoor community spaces.

  • The Multicultural Community Heritage Association CIC

    The Multicultural Community Heritage Association provides benefit to local communities via its activities and projects through the organising of small and large public events and also community and personal storytelling.


     

  • The National Lottery Community Fund – the Solidarity Fund

    Funding amount and term: between £1 million and £5 million in total. You can spend this funding over five to 10 years.
    Funding for: core funding for up to ten years to organisations tackling the root causes of poverty, disadvantage and discrimination.
    Who can apply: voluntary and community organisations.
    Funding priorities: help make big and lasting changes and bring people together to deal with the root causes of poverty, disadvantage or discrimination.

  • The Paul Hamlyn Foundation – Migration Fund 

    Funding amount and term: up to £60,000 per year over three to four years or £50,000 per year over five years.  
    Funding for: organisations whose principles and practice align with their vision of the future. 
    Who can apply: organisations building on their services to strengthen relationships with their communities. 
    Funding priorities: addressing the root causes of the injustices faced by migrant and diaspora communities.

  • The Prestbury United Charities 

    Funding amount and term: not specified. 
    Funding for:youth groups, school equipment and families needing support with white goods and furniture/clothing.
    Who can apply: individuals, groups and societies can apply for support for those in need who live in the areas of Cheltenham with postcodes beginning GL50, GL51, GL52 and GL53.  
    Funding priorities: preference will be given to residents of the ecclesiastical Parish of Prestbury Gloucestershire, Swindon Village and Southam. 
    Any other information: the trustees meet usually every month to discuss the applications for grants.

  • Your Gloucester Small Grants  

    Funding amount and term: £250 for individuals and up to £500 for a group. A total of £10,000 has been set aside by Gloucester City Council (GCC) to support residents not currently involved in local community activities. 
    Funding for: to develop local projects using the asset-based community development approach.  
    Who can apply: organisations or individuals with an idea that will kick-start or enhance community-based activities to the benefit of groups, young people or adults within the city of Gloucester. 
    Funding priorities: ideas must meet at least one of the GCC’s criteria on the application guidelines here.
